I have edited hundreds of these spots during my many years supporting the live studio broadcast of the NFL Today, Sundays on CBS. This one was produced by Joseph E. Zappulla, who also provided the clever wordsmithing.
Some Sundays we we would cut five or six versions, each new great play replacing the previous one. The final spot would air in the first commercial slot after the end of the early afternoon games. So, if a great play happened late in the game, or even as the last play of the game, there was some frantic scrambling, trying to turn it around in time to make that slot!
