Working with the Athletic, I was able to reunite with my Tour de France colleagues from CBS SPORTS, Armen Keteyian and Vic Frank, along with Allan Goldberg (60 Minutes) who formed the video unit for the Athletic.

They paired me with producer Brian Hyland (Showtime’s Inside the NFL). This first piece was a great introduction – perfect for an editor who’s worked in both sports and documentary. My goal for Bryan was to apply all the story-telling skills I have developed in documentary to evoke the powerful emotion appropriate to this touching story of how sports has transformed a community.

I still get a bit choked up watching it.
