Tennis Channel’s “Dear Fans” is a series that provides unique, personal access to a popular tennis star, following Stefanos Tsitsipas as he travels the globe in search of adventures and championships.

The project came to me from Anthony Seratelli of Jersey Filmmaker, with whom I collaborated with on Beautiful Lie.  This episode was my first “vlog-umentary.” It required processing a large amount of disparate material and was not an easy task to pull a story out of it.

Anthony flat out reject my first cut, with a reprimand to get on YouTube and watch some vlogs! I had approached the project like I would a documentary or network sports feature. But this was a streaming vlog ostensibly from Stefanos’ point of view.  What I had delivered was too polished and did not have the right feel.

I got my education, and with Anthony’s guidance the piece was successfully delivered. Never again will I cover a jump cut in a vlog!
